Weekly Appeal Concentrations

“Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them.”

            By giving alms or performing works of mercy we actualize the Beatitudes. Pope Francis asks specifically for money to enhance charitable organizations sponsored by our Church.

            Take time to investigate the many opportunities that exist which feed the poor, shelter the homeless, care for the addicted, pray for the living, bury and pray for the dead, comfort the sorrowful, visit the sick, and clothe the naked. These programs and services can be found through your local parish or online. As you know, the Daughters of Divine Charity also provide some of these services through our ministries.

“From dust you came and to dust you will return.”

            We mark the beginning of Lent by focusing on how we will prepare for God’s ultimate gift of eternal life won by the sorrowful passion and glorious resurrection of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Examine your attachment to the material things in life and how you can become more spiritual.

            During Lent we identify a sacrifice we can make with the intention that in doing so, we will enhance our relationship with God.
