Fall Gathering 2015

August 4, 2015

Join Us for a Fall Gathering

On Saturday October 17 , 2015 St. Joseph Hill Academy will hold the second Annual
Memorial Mass and Homecoming Brunch. This Mass is offered for the intentions of all those
individuals who supported St. Joseph Hill over the years.

This year we have decided to add those generous donors who have supported the Sisters
to be included in the Memorial Mass. The names of those remembered will be on display in the
school chapel on the fourth floor of St. Joseph Hill Academy. The suggested donation is $10 per
individual listed.

In addition to the Memorial Mass in the school auditorium at 10:30AM there is a brunch
in the school cafeteria at 11:15am. The cost of the brunch is $25 for adults and $10 for children
(under 10).

This year, following the brunch, tours will be offered to those interested in seeing the new
Daughters of Divine Charity Retreat Center and the Sal Gerardi Memorial Field. Raffles will
also be available during the brunch.

Lenten Series this Month

February 20, 2013

A Lenten series focused on the Liturgy of the Hours, or the Divine Office, will be offered on Thursdays this month and next by Christopher Franz at St. Joseph Hill Convent in Arrochar. The Divine Office is the official prayer of the Church, and Lent is a perfect time to get in touch with the official prayer of the Church.

Franz, a teacher in the Department of Religious Studies at St. Joseph Hill Academy High School, will speak at the 7 p.m. sessions this Thursday and also on February 28th, March 7th, and March 14th.

The suggested donation is $10. The convent is located at 850 Hylan Blvd. (Building C). RSVP to Sister Denise at [email protected] or call 718-727-5700 by Thursday February 21st.

St. Joseph’s Day Mass and Potluck

February 5, 2013

For the past three years, the friends of the Sisters have gathered at St. Joseph Hill Convent to celebrate St. Joseph’s Day. The celebration begins with Mass at 4:30 pm in the convent chapel followed by a potluck dinner.

As St. Joseph’s Day approaches, the Sisters at St. Joseph Hill Convent have been asking many questions:

  • Have the invitations been sent out?
  • Can I bring my family and friends to celebrate with us?
  • Who will be coming this year?
  • Will there be pie?
  • Can we play music?

I wish that all of you could hear the excitement in the Sisters’ voices as they ask these questions. It is such a privilege to be able to spend time with the Sisters; to be welcomed into their home and to be able to share warm memories with them.

This year, we hope to make St. Joseph’s Day even more memorable for all of the Sisters, their families, friends, and especially you, their most loyal supporters. This special evening is hosted at the St. Joseph Hill Convent on Staten Island.

All are invited to share in this very special day, but please remember this is a potluck dinner and all guests should bring food or beverages to share with our guests.  For more information or a list of the specially requested items from the Sisters, please call my colleague, Elizabeth Cotter, at 718-447-1374 (ext. 9171) or email her at [email protected]. We hope that you will be able to join the Sisters for this celebration of our Patron Saint. To RSVP, click here.
Thank you for your continued support,
