Dear Friend of the Sisters,
Several months have passed since that terrible October day when the Sisters were roused from their beds with the awful news that part of their home was destroyed by a fire. Through prayer and forgiveness the Sisters havefound the strength to begin their recovery from the emotional turmoil of this tragedy.
So far the restoration and recovery work has been limited to cleaning. Sadly, flames destroyed most of the chapel but the smoke and water damage have taken their toll as well. This has meant many hours of cleaning and sorting through what can be salvaged.
At this time the Sisters are waiting for approval and permits to begin the construction work. They do plan to keep their loyal friends and donors apprised of progress made on the chapel reconstruction. A more comprehensive brochure and appeal will be shared as soon as possible. In the meantime, all gifts, no matter how large or small, will be used by the Sisters to restore the chapel.
As in the past, the Sisters’ gift to you is a remembrance in the St. Joseph Novena of Masses celebrated for nine days and culminating with Mass on St. Joseph’s Day. May you and your loved ones be blessed by our patron.
The Sisters wish you all the best and are so grateful for your loving care.
Gratefully yours,
Elizabeth S. Johnsen
Development Director
